ABOUT THE ARTIST

As an automotive illustrator, Rod Seel’s work can be found in public and private art collections around the world. An avid sports car enthusiast, his favorite subjects are European sports cars, but he also illustrates muscle cars and classics. His works include limited edition prints in pen and ink, watercolor and mixed media. He has produced numerous custom commissions for clubs, events and individuals. A native of Topeka, Kansas, Seel began his career in 1978 with a Kansas City area advertising design studio. He worked for various advertising and marketing firms over the next two decades, and co-founded Jones & Seel Advertising, Inc. (now Jones Seel Huyett, Inc.) in 1987. In 2005, he formed a new company, The Seel Group, Inc. Seel’s work in illustration, and his creation and execution in print and broadcast media has received dozens of national, regional and local awards. In 1998, Seel was presented with the Silver Medal Award, a lifetime achievement award of the American Advertising Federation. An admitted car-nut, in his spare time, he is a high-performance driving instructor for several national sports car clubs. He enjoys automotive related events with his wife Sue, and son Scott.
